About me
My name is Maria Isart and I work professionally as an opera lyric soprano. I was born in Barcelona in 1996, and from a very young age I started training musically and on stage: singing in choirs, studying, singing, and dancing.
I have always been interested in history and art in all its areas: music, literature, theater, painting, and so on. It wasn’t until I was sixteen that I discovered the genre of opera, when my singing teacher made me try to sing an aria. At that moment, a new world opened up to me. Opera encompassed everything I was passionate about. It started as an entertainment and ended up being not only my profession, but my vocation.
I spent four years at the Liceu Conservatory (Barcelona) where I got professional training, and then decided to pursue my own musical career outside the academic field, as I was also studying Labor Relations and Employment at Rovira i Virgili University.
In my opinion, singing can be described as a constant act of creation. It is to be at the service of the composer and the librettist, with a demanding look at every phrase and every sound.
It is being able to send to the audience an interpretation full of nuances and experiences.
